The Friends of the Alameda Free Library hold sales of donated books in May and October. The sales are held in the DeWitt O'Club, 641 West Red Line Ave. at Alameda Point, Alameda (SEE MAP).
Volunteers are always needed to help set up, maintain tables, and help visitors complete their purchases. Contact The Friends at adairobert@sbcglobal.net just prior to a sale if you would like to help.
We take 800–1000 boxes of books to every sale. There are literally hundreds of items in every category. Most books are priced between 50¢ and $2.00. These three-day events include a preview sale on Friday evening (free to members), all-day shopping on Saturday, and a Sunday clearance sale. See SCHEDULE.
Members receive two free tickets to the Friday preview sale, so join now and be sure to keep your Friends membership current (click here for MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION).
